Choosing the Best Bulletin Board Colors for Halloween

When it comes time to make a bulletin board for Halloween, the possibilities are endless. Witches, goblins, black cats, haunted houses and ghosts can decorate your bulletin board, but more traditional autumn decorations like leaves, pumpkins and cornucopias are appropriate as well. This is one time of the year when the colors you use on your bulletin board can let people know without a doubt what time of year it is.

Black and orange

When most people think of Halloween, black and orange are the colors that come to mind. Pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns are orange, of course, and black is the color that witches wear. Then there are the black cats and black spiders to consider, and do not forget vampires who traditionally wear black capes. Use an orangy-yellow full moon behind the silhouettes of spooky, black trees, black cats with their backs arched and witches flying on broomsticks. Add some white for the ghosts and skeletons that are sure to appear on your bulletin board as well.

Brown, red and yellow

Brown, red and yellow are traditional autumn colors and if you are making a Halloween bulletin board, these colors can have a place as well. You can use them to make leaves fluttering around the border of your bulletin board. Red comes in handy for gory scenes that involve blood, and yellow works well for the moon, a cat's eyes and the face of the illuminated jack-o-lantern.

Most Halloween bulletin boards utilize black and orange as a basis. Using these colors along with yellow, brown and red for accents is sure to set the mood for Halloween.
