How to Cover a Cork Board With Fabric

No need for experience in craft projects to learn how to cover a cork board with fabric. A pretty fabric background brightens up your plain notice cork board and your room.

  1. First: Fitting the fabric

Choose a piece of fabric to match the color scheme of your room. Cut the fabric to exceed the dimensions of your cork board by two inches on all sides. Turn it over so the printed side is facing down. Take your cork board and set it centered in the middle of the fabric, also facing down.

  2. Second: Secure with staples

Pull the excess length on all four sides over to the back of the cork board. Staple the fabric firmly to the cork board, working carefully and pulling the fabric taut to keep it from wrinkling. Allow only two inches between each staple for a neat appearance.

  3. Third: Trimming the touches

After circling the entire cork board with staples and stretching your fabric tight, flip over the cork board. Apply your desired bulletin board decorations at this point, trimming it with ribbon or a strip of complementary fabric. Consider a bulletin board border to create the illusion of a frame, affixed with tape to your new fabric cork board.
